Microsoft joins the self-repair trend, and for this purpose a booklet for one of the well-known names in the field – iFixit. The two companies now offer tools designed for repairing Surface computers, independently and without the need to contact the manufacturer’s laboratory.
However, it is worth emphasizing that these are tools designed to perform relatively complex repairs, and therefore iFixit also refers to them as tools designed for technicians or users with knowledge and experience in the field. For example, you can purchase a tool designed to separate the screen from the computer case, and reconnect it using glue. Another tool is designed to cover the battery cover while repairing the computer, so that the motherboard and chips do not get dirty or damaged while the computer is open.
This is not a solution that will save the average user the need to turn to professionals, but tools that will allow any computer lab to handle Surface computers without the need for special certification from Microsoft, or IT departments in large companies to take on the task of handling some common hardware glitches.
The tools are suitable for repair on Surface 7 Plus, Surface Pro 8 and Surface Laptop computers.

“Microsoft is taking a big step to make the patch more accessible to its customers,” said Kyle Wiens CEO Kyle Wiens. “These tools will enable technicians to help their customers continue to use computers for a longer period of time.” Save money, but also allow reuse of computers that would find their way in any other way to garbage – thus contributing to the environment.
