Samsung’s long-standing Note series will probably not return to independent living, but according to recent reports, the Korean manufacturer has chosen a surprising solution for the brand’s fans: the most senior model in the Galaxy S22 series will not be called the Ultra model like its predecessors, but will be named Galaxy S22 Note.

This brand name will not be the only connection between the most expensive and largest model of the Galaxy S22 and the Note series: the Galaxy S22 Note will also have a look reminiscent of that of the Note models with a square and angular design, and also a built-in space for storing the pen. -S Pen while not in use – as previously leaked. It will also be the only model in the series to be offered for sale with 12 or 16 GB of working memory and 512 GB of file storage.

The cheaper Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus models will both come with 8GB of working memory, and 128 or 256GB of file storage. The difference between the “cheap” models in the Galaxy S22 series and the expensive and senior model may be particularly large then, especially compared to previous years.

Samsung, it will be recalled, is expected to announce the entire series on February 8, as part of an Unpacked event dedicated to unveiling. The device will hit store shelves ten days later, on February 18, 2022. It is still unclear whether the ongoing crisis in the chip industry will result in significant stock shortages that will make the S22 models a rare sight during the first months after launch, though quite a plausible scenario.
